Basic First Aid
Primary Care & Secondary Care Course
Emergency First Response is an innovative CPR and first aid training programme for the lay rescuer that follows the same priorities of care used by professional emergency care providers. The student masters the priorities and the procedures of patient care, which reduces confusion and enhances confidence when rendering aid in a medical emergency.
The course is divided into two segments: Primary Care (adult CPR) course and Secondary Care course (first aid). Primary Care prepares the rescuer to render aid to those with a life-threatening emergency such as cardiac arrest. Secondary Care focuses on developing secondary patient care skills to build the rescuer's confidence to render first aid to those in need when emergency medical services are either delayed or unavailable.
Cutting edge student and instructor materials including manuals and DVDs support all courses. An integral part of the Emergency First Response course is training in the use of external automated defibrillators (AEDs). AEDs greatly increase a cardiac arrest patient's chances of a positive outcome and can be used by anyone appropriately trained.
